Cultural Diversity and Tradition in Düsseldorf: Events at the CCD enliven the cityscape

November 25, 2024

In the coming months, Düsseldorf's cultural life will be enriched by a series of events taking place at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf. With formats such as the Grand Classic Ballet, the Helene Fischer Show, and the traditional TV session “Düsseldorf Helau", the CCD provides a platform for a wide range of culture and traditions.

These events illustrate the connection between local traditions and cultural formats that attract attention beyond the city limits. While “Düsseldorf Helau” preserves Rhenish customs and is firmly anchored in the city's annual calendar, events like the Helene Fischer Show, the Grand Classic Ballet, or the music project “11,000 Strings", which took place in September 2024, draw visitors from across the region and generate media attention for Düsseldorf. These events not only contribute to the city’s cultural profile but also promote local tourism and support the hospitality and gastronomy industries.

"Events like "Düsseldorf Helau" or the Helene Fischer Show combine cultural tradition with supra-regional appeal and are an essential part of urban life", says Maria Kofidou, Managing Director of Düsseldorf Congress GmbH. “They create spaces for encounters, strengthen the city’s cultural identity, and economically position Düsseldorf as an attractive location.”

The diversity of formats at the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf demonstrates how culture and tradition have become key factors for the city’s identity and appeal.
Significant events are also planned for the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf in the coming year, including the Japanese convention DoKomi, which is expected to attract over 150,000 guests. Through events like these, the CCD provides a venue for a diverse audience and supports Düsseldorf as a hub for international and cultural exchange.
